Cloze Maker for Japanese and Korean

Turn any passage into a fill-in-the-blank worksheet, inside the document you are already working in.

Why this one

Most cloze tools split words on spaces. Japanese has none, so they either fail or cut words in half. This one runs proper morphological analysis, so 日本語教育 stays whole and 座った is recognised as a form of 座る. Korean is split at 어절 level.

Choose how many

The two choices combine, so every second particle and all the verbs, scattered are both a click away.

What it costs

The free plan covers 300 words at a time and 10 worksheets a month.

A note on difficulty levels

No official vocabulary list exists for the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test. The organisers stopped publishing test content specifications in 2010.

Where this add-on marks words as above or below a level, those levels come from a publicly available list by Jonathan Waller, used under a Creative Commons Attribution licence. They are an informed estimate, not an official standard. We are not affiliated with the test organisers.

Your text

For Japanese and Korean the passage is sent to our word segmentation service, held in memory for the length of the request, and never written down. For English nothing leaves your document at all. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
